Solution

The church already has an app, but few know about it. Even less use it because they're overwhelmed with content.
They need a clean and intuitive app that holds everything they need: one that can keep up with their busy schedules.

My Role

I worked as a UX Intern on a team with two others. We collaborated to research the problem, brainstorm solutions, and propose our findings to the leaders. It was my job to reach out to users, visualize the app's current organization through app sitemaps, and brainstorm creative solutions to improve the design.

Interviews and Surveys Galore

Like good UX designers, we wanted to understand the heart of the problem with Berean's current app. We talked to people in two categories: the product owners (PO) and the members.

Talking with the leaders

I reached out to the pastor, Pastor M., who in charge of maintaining the church's online platforms.

POs' goals
My goal was to understand the POs' functional requirements and determine how to measure success for each one.
A few questions into the interview, I discovered some key issues.

FINDINGS

1. The stakeholders are missing a clear goal for the mobile app.
2. The app's functionality overlaps too much with the church's Facebook group.
